Blog Introduction

People can think of amazing things such as: new inventions, problem solving, and abstract thinking. I have always been intrigued by what people can come up with. I want to use this interest of mine for the topic for my blog which is; Exploring Big Ideas.
The pursuit of knowledge to me in a serious sense is the whole point to life. I was raised in an atmosphere encouraged to learn, because of this I have gained a thirst for knowledge. When I did debate this ability to find information grew. Debate require hours of research in order to build a strong argument. This increased my ability to find out whatever I wanted to know. Now if I ever have a problem I simply get on the internet or go to the library. Being an independent, I love being able to discover and know things for myself.  I now find myself writing down random questions that I have during the day, so that I can go study them later. I won’t lose interest in this topic simply because I love to learn, especially about the intelligent mind-blowing thoughts of others.
Many benefits will come by pursuing this topic. Through the semester the attention that I give to this topic will benefit me, by informing me on the new innovative movements of modern day. I will be able to learn about solutions people have come up with for some of the most difficult political, social, and global problems. People are always introducing new ways of thinking which sometimes might seem unconventional, but have real potential. My topic is vast in the sense that it covers a wide range of creative thoughts, thus I will not run out of writing materials. I get excited thinking about all the fun things I can study. Research will allow me to discover and adapt new ways of thinking, and change how I approach situations. Overall, by the end of three months I will be greatly benefited from the constant inquiry.
I have always been looking for ways to be informed and involved about the activities in the news.  I also like to think I try to have a few inventive thoughts myself.  After school I find myself trying to stay informed by looking online for anything new going on in the world. When I was on a debate team the class would have a news minute; where someone would talk about a current event or some new inventions. Since then I have tried to stay well-versed about new advancements in technology, famous speakers, and international movements. I do however have a lot to discover about new ideas that may have the ability to cause change.

Information will not be difficult to find in an era where it’s readily accessible. My favorite place to find big ideas would be by watching Ted Talks. This will be my main source of information; mainly because it deals in a wide range of topics. I will not only be looking at modern day big ideas but past ones as well. A helpful site for this will be history.com which will help me cover topics like advancements in mathematics and science, philosophy, religion, and government. Different magazines will provide information as well like: National Geographic, Innovation and Tech Today, also Innovation America can be used as one of the many sources. These resources will provide reliable and accurate information.
